How Eco Friendly Are You?

Of late there has been a major shift in people’s perception of eco system and the environment.  Global warming, green gases, pollution, carbon footprint, carbon credit, melting glaciers have become hot topics for News Papers, Websites, Blogposts and Radio / TV Chatshows.

The message stands clear; we've got to work out a method to control carbon emissions. Carbon dioxide is mainly generated due to burning of fossil fuels. Then there is methane, which is generated by natural gas, landfills, coal mining, animal waste, decaying plants etc. Third, the use of nitrogen trifluoride as a cleaning agent in LCD screens, thin solar films etc., has become a cause of worry.

In one or the other way, knowingly or unknowingly we all have been contributing to the above. If we fail to preserve the beautiful atmosphere on earth, we will be doing injustice to our future generations. Sudden outburst of industrial productivity has certainly been a major contributor in systematically weakening the environment. We as individuals can do a lot too to protect the environment.

Check the points below, let us see how eco friendly person you are?

1. You own a SUV or a vehicle which consumes more fuel than a normal car to take you to your work place.
2. Animal products and meat items are major part of your diet.
3. You think growing a garden of your own is not required (there are public parks anyway).
4. You have a habit of leaving food on your plate which will end up in garbage bin.
5. You think there is no big deal in using plastic bags at the grocery.
6. You love leather jackets or things made of out of animal leather.
7. You frequently use air conditioner at home, office and in car.
8. You think there is enough water on earth, why bother preserving?
9. You would love to keep all lights on at your office or home.
10. You still use www.google.com instead of energy saver www.blackle.com
11. You think usage of energy efficient bulbs is not seriously required.
12. You think owning and riding a bicycle is out of fashion.

If your answer is No to the above, Congratulations, you are indeed an eco friendly person. You care for earth, you care for your children, grandchildren and the entire future generation.
